It Is Good!

It is good to bless each day when it comes,
unless we prefer no day to come.

It is good to bless our togetherness,
unless we wish to be alone on earth.

It is good to express our love,
unless we prefer to have no love.

It is good to share love
when we long for love -
for in giving we receive.

It is good to extend our care to others
when we desire togetherness -
then we comprehend ourselves as one.

It is good to welcome each day
- when we desire life,
- when we desire to grow,
- when we desire to prosper,

It is good to hold around us
- our love for those we treasure
- our togetherness with all people
- our union with all creation!

We know only who we are
In community with others.
Together we are whole -
Our consciousness is one.

Choose to Love

Love!
-
Choose only to love!
--
Choose to pleasure - not to cause pain.
---
The hand that caresses may also throw stones.
----
"I love you!" - "I hate you!" - the same voice speaks.
-----
Words draw us together. - Words force us apart.
------
The heart that feels pleasure also feels pain.
-------
The soul may cringe that once was secure;
------
Joy become sorrow – laughter, tears.
-----
All is possible. - All is choice.
----
Choose only love!
---
Feel only love! – Express only love!
--
Love is all that matters.
-
Love!

Love! Once Again

Love -
Fall in love with all things!
Let passion burn in your heart:
a dark coal that bursts
into flame when touched -
an inextinguishable flame
that does not consume
but leaves you whole -
and when you grow old
the fire dims but glows hot -
and when you are gone
the hearth remains warm
where you were.

The Question of Love

How to write of flowers
opening in winter, gray and cold;
the world on verge of war;
you: unfolding with touch of lip
and hand - delicate, yet firm -
tiny, first buds of spring, rising to push
back snow; then the rose, lustrous in full bloom,
opening, receiving, responding!

Ours: this journey to be here; embraced
against this winter - this war that rages round
and would be in us, were it not for love
we shelter here, beating heart to heart,
lips brushing, exchanging breath for breath.
