Why 10,000,000 Clicks For Peace?

Numbers are fantastic things. This was not always true for me. I was originally so intimidated by numbers that I nearly failed most of my high school math courses. Later, I had the opportunity to tutor a junior high student who was having difficulty with algebra and I suddenly found I was actually pretty good with numbers and equations after all.

At the very least, we are far more attached to numbers than we realize. Mathematics, after all, is the one common language we can be sure to share with any developed culture we may encounter anywhere in our universe. Which makes numbers all the more important when we consider peace. This point in itself gives good support for this program's numeric title, but Ten Million Clicks for Peace refers to the effectiveness of small, everyday actions when done with commitment to peace.

Did you know that one theory of universal energy says it would take only the square root of one percent of world population really concentrating on peace to bring about a positive world change toward peace? This number turns out to be only about eight thousand (8,000) really concentrating people. The desired goal of ten million small but significant acts (clicks) for peace could easily be reached by eight thousand dedicated people averaging 1250 small acts each – all the things the program's "Peace Machine" helps to generate from daily activity. But think of how much greater the effect would be were we to have a full ten million people around the world really concentrating and working toward peace! Our total clicks would grow exponentially from ten million to an unimaginable number of individual contributions.

What does it take to spread peace from our hearts around the world? Simple! Join with others supporting peace through Ten Million Clicks or another organization and then recruit at least two other people to participate. Then do at least two things to make a direct contribution to peace: volunteer, contribute funds, spread the word – the possibilities of things to do are almost endless in themselves. With only eight thousand people so involved we would already be making a major statement for world peace.

And if eight thousand people really working for personal, community and world peace can make a global difference, then ten to one hundred times more people really working and concentrating can make an even greater contribution to peace.

We can create an exponential expansion of numbers and value if we join together now to each recruit at least two people to the cause, each of whom will in turn recruit two others. Starting with the two founders of Ten Million Clicks for Peace, we could reach our magic 8,000 recruits in just 13 revolutions. Even more remarkably, we could reach eight million recruits in just 23 revolutions.

With this in mind, do you think our likely outcome would be only eight thousand people committed to work for peace if we followed through with such a campaign? Because of exponential growth, we could easily have many more than eight thousand or even eighty thousand recruits. Instead we could easily think of eight hundred thousand or even eight million. The contribution (clicking) power would then be truly phenomenal.

What could stop us from accomplishing such a result? Nothing really, as long as we fully join together in committing ourselves to the task. We lose only when we fail to act. We never lose as long as we eventually work together. The ones who really lose if we fail to commit ourselves to peace are those around the world whose present wellbeing depends on our commitment.

So what are we waiting for? - Is there ever a better time than now to work together for world peace? Beginning in our own hearts, we can work together to spread peace to our families, our communities, our nations and eventually throughout the entire world. We would then form a genuine world community built on shared understanding and peace.

I believe our commitment to live and communicate peace in every way serves to spread the message of peace. Everything we peacefully do or say spreads peace – even though we may seldom use the word "peaceful" to describe ourselves or our actions. Peace simply becomes our way of life when we value it as highly as air, food, and water. In reality peace is no less necessary than these for our ultimate survival and shared prosperity.

To me then, this is why Ten Million Clicks for Peace is so important. TMC gives us all a chance to make a real difference individually, and then incrementally magnify that contribution in powerful ways as others become involved.

I encourage us all to participate in Ten Million Clicks for Peace or any program where we can work together with others to make a real difference in our personal lives, our communities, our nations and eventually the entire world. Our combined commitment and action are what we need to bring about the peace we seek for ourselves and our world.
